Democrats become Republicans or Same Coin, Different Side

Following all of the stories of Democrat politicians switching their affiliation to Republican, I was a bit skeptical that they were all for real reasons of political beliefs rather than just making sure that when the sheeple went in to vote next time that the R would assure them re-election.

Regrettably, I was right.

There still are people, supposedly more learned than I in the ways of politics, that contend there is a vast and important difference between Democrats and Republicans.

I say prove it !

Do not give me stories about how Republicans stand up to Democrat encroachments when the Republicans are the unnecessary minority, as they are now.
Show me how the Republicans stood up to Democrats on issues of liberty when either party held a slight majority. List the items that Republicans forced Democrats to lean their way when those majorities were slim.
Do not present stories of principled people standing for liberty and call it Republicans standing for liberty. For each time you show me the Chairman of the RNC, or the former Speaker of the House standing for liberty, I can show you them speaking of "reaching across the aisle" and "seeking bipartisanship".
There are principled people that have an R behind their names, but there are far, far more that do not.

There is not a "dime's worth of difference between the two" parties.

The only thing that matters about a candidate is where does that candidate stand on the issues of liberty. What are the underlying beliefs that form that candidates every position ?
When you know how a candidate feels and thinks about liberty then you know it does not matter which party they chose to join.
The one thing to remember before casting any ballot in the future is: Today every member of the two major political parties is a member primarily to insure ballot access.

All that the major parties need to remain in power is a misinformed, under-informed, or stupid electorate.

For Liberty to gain a foothold requires an informed and liberty seeking electorate.
Until that time it will seem as if electing Republicans is the only way to go.
However if that were true, then how did we get here ? Didn't we all get told Republicans would solve it all in 1994 ?
Yet here we are with things even worse than 1994.

NOW is the time for all good men to come to their senses.
STOP voting party - START voting LIBERTY !

The Law of Unintended Consequences

A Virginia woman suffocates her newborn. She is not charged with any crime.

You see,
“In the state of Virginia as long as the umbilical cord is attached and the placenta is still in the mother, if the baby comes out alive the mother can do whatever she wants to with that baby to kill it,” said Investigator Tracy Emerson. “She could shoot the baby, stab the baby. As long as it’s still attached to her in some form by umbilical cord or something it’s no crime in the state of Virginia.”

NO, there is no Unintended Consequence of a baby dying, that was the full intention of the law. That is WHY the law was written in such a manner.

As Uncle Di so aptly points out:
"Because the mother and baby were still connected by the umbilical cord and placenta, state law does not consider the baby to be a separate life." They're saying, in short, state law does not consider the baby to be a baby.

Put that way, something looks wrong.

The Unintended Consequence was that there would be reporters needing to resemble pretzels to write about it.

Our Lady of Guadelupe pray for us.

The Constitutional Genius that is Thomas J. DiLorenzo

In response to Glenn Beck's 5 Pledges for Elected Officials, Thomas DiLorenzo gives a solid example of why he stands head, shoulders, and breastplate above this generation's self-professed libertarians who still admire President Lincoln.

First I present you with Mr. Beck's seriously thoughtful and heartfelt 5 pledges:
1) I believe in a balanced budget and therefore will vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.

2) I believe government should not increase the financial burden on its' citizenry during difficult economic times therefore I will oppose all tax increases until our economy has rebounded.

3) I believe more than four decades of US dependence on foreign oil is a travesty therefore I will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, natural gas, and coal as necessary.

4) I believe in the sovereignty and security of our country and therefore will support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we will know who is entering and why and I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations, or any other entity, power over U.S. citizens.

5) I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth and therefore will not apologize for policies or actions which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet.

Now, I request that you read Thomas J. DiLorenzo's open letter to Glenn Beck in it's entirety, and come to know how profound the differences were between President Jefferson's and President Lincoln's policies and beliefs.

Happy Thanksgiving

Once again we are getting ready to celebrate more goodness and bounty bestowed upon us than we deserve from such a great and gracious God.

This day has traditions that are from the New Englanders first celebrations; we are after all an English-speaking people. However the first community act of religion and thanksgiving in the first permanent [European] settlement in the land was not in the New England colonies, as we have no doubt all been told by our government educators.

"On September 8, 1565 Pedro Menéndez de Avilés and his 800 Spanish settlers founded the settlement of St. Augustine in La Florida, the landing party celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving, and, afterward, Menéndez laid out a meal to which he invited as guests the native Seloy tribe who occupied the site." - go read the rest of this short piece on history - The actual First Thanksgiving in America!

New guidelines for Pap Smears

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists have come out to say that women do need to get cancer screenings until they are at least 21 years of age.
Why ? Because "the move toward fewer screenings will reduce unnecessary treatment in young women and protect them from future pregnancy complications.", says Dr. Alan G. Waxman

Yep, that's right, they suggest waiting until after the women reach 21 years of age because Doctors were to aggressive in their attempts to eradicate cancer.

Wouldn't it have been more prudent to issue new guidelines to Doctors suggesting less aggressive methods earlier than at age 21 ?

Imagine if, when The American Heart Association saw a need for new guidelines in CPR, they had just issued a press release suggesting that " one wait until help arrives", rather than changing the way CPR is taught.

It was Twenty Years Ago Today.......that Germany again tasted Freedom

Publius over at Big Government posted these 1000 words today with the following request:

The guard’s flight to freedom should inspire us. In the comments, tell us where you were on this day in 1989. Commit to remind at least one person of today’s anniversary. We don’t expect Big Media to note the date.

Just days ago this would seem to be an unnecessary thing to do. We all know that the end of the Communist iron-fisted stranglehold over the citizens of East Berlin was wrong. We all know that such a barbaric death-grip on the populace is evil.

If by we I were to mean none of the intellectuals that posit themselves as brighter than I.

See this was an end to a brighter time,

Since the demise of the GDR, many have come to recognise and regret that the genuine "social achievements" they enjoyed were dismantled: social and gender equality, full employment and lack of existential fears, as well as subsidised rents, public transport, culture and sports facilities. Unfortunately, the collapse of the GDR and "state socialism" came shortly before the collapse of the "free market" system in the west.

Without dwelling on the idiocy inherent in such intellectualist rantings as that from Bruni de la Motte, instead just look at the picture of the East German guard risking his life to get to freedom as the wall was being built.

He had a guaranteed job for life ! All of the State's benefits were his ! The best perks were his for the keeping ! Instead he chose FREEDOM !

In the 28 years that the wall stood, there were many who chose to be free at the risk of death. In just a short 20 years there are still many that wish to impose their intellectual will on us who wish to remain free just so they can be assured that they will not fail.

Our Lady of Guadelupe, pray for us !

Will the rest of the Republicans come around ?

Or, rather more likely, will they just admit that the only thing the Republican Party is interested in is keeping the Republican Party relevant and in power ?

That great bastion of conservative values Newt Gingrich has been supporting another RINO. Yeah BIG SURPRISE.
There is only ONE reason to call yourself a Republican. Instant ballot access.

The real ideas of Republicanism have been put into a box by the Republican Party. Through the actions of their collusion with the Democratic Party they have closed off, for all intents and purposes, any real democratic process of electing anyone that is not ready to toe the RepubliCrat line.

Need a very recent example of GOP selling out ? Look no further than New York State's special election in the 23rd district.
In the middle of the greatest expansion of federal authority in US history, the "Republican" Party has thrown it's full weight into supporting another non-Conservative.

Can we now stop referring to Republicans as Conservatives ?

Just as the Democratic Party left Ronald Reagan, so too has the Republican Party left Ronald Reagan !
If you call yourself a Reagan-anything you too must leave the Republican Party.

To all those that say "if we leave the Republican Party we will never get the Country back to conservative values", I ask, how are we doing so far ?

Thanks again for the ONE McCain worth a damn.

Obama made a decision, and it was wrong

Any person with knowledge of history, a brain and a desire to get the facts before spouting off stupidities would have made a different decision. But, we are talking about 0bama, so, he should have waited until he got this report.

Thankfully, all we need do is read the wrap-up at The Patriot Room to be reminded that Zelaya was a threat to peace and liberty that no civilized nation should have to put up with.

So many accomplishments in so little time

But, without doubt the greatest single achievement in President Obama's short time as "Leader of the Free World" is the complete and total dismantling of the world view of The United States of America as a Superpower.

He has, single-handedly, removed the need for any aggressor-nation to fear reprisals.

For that I most strongly assure you that United States President Barack Hussein Obama is the most deserving recipient of The Nobel Peace Prize,
EVER !

More nirvana
Let's put aside the notion that the President "won" the Nobel Peace Prize for anything directly to do with peace. It was awarded to him precisely because he has temporarily weakened the US. That history shows such strategies invariably lead to war is beside the point.

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Congrats, Mr. President, you finally made a decision.....sort of

The popular version of the current issue about if and when to sent more troops to Afghanistan per Gen. McChrystal's request is one that cast the Gen. in a bad light. It is told in a way that makes the Gen. seem to be going around the chain of command in seeking his request's approval.

So far, we are getting the story that the Gen. asked for more troops, and other things, to be sure, but, Pres. Obama has to determine the proper strategy before deciding on whether the Gen. was correct in his request.

But, the truth is that Pres. Obama had set his strategy in March. It was based upon that strategy that Gen. McChrystal sent his request to Pres. Obama.

Now is the time to follow through on that strategy.

Yet, it is becoming increasingly clearer that the President is unable to make a decision and keep with it. When he does make up his mind it is only a matter of time before he changes it and then cannot decide.

Also becoming clearer is President Obama's indecisive manner of making decisions. He waits until his indecision polarizes those involved.

Thus insuring the galvanizing of the reason for his decision. Almost without fail the opposite of whatever he said in his campaign. A campaign that has yet to cease.

Alas, Pres. Obama has all he needs to make the decision that goes counter to all he said in campaign mode, and he will make the most of it, too.

And not one of the statist-minded media will call him out on it !

It is very comforting to know that after the unusal amount of rain in the Southern United States and the eventual flooding damages; which were recently followed by the terrible outcome of a tsunami broaching Samoan shores, that this President of the United States has planned a trip.

As if Glenn Beck needs my help

Why CBS and/or Katie Couric found a need to interview Glenn Beck is something I cannot answer. There has been little real in depth such research into the stories of the day lately, that I would have imagined any CBS story about Beck would have included the respective writers from Time and Newsweek along with maybe an editor or two from those "magazines" and Keith Olberman.

What a refreshing sign it is to see CBS go to the source.

Alas, the sound bite that has attracted attention is Glenn simply stating his opinion about how the country would be today if the electorate had chosen Sen. McCain over Sen. Obama.

Based on what has transpired in The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate, before and after the November election, he supposes that the country would have been worse off.

We can get all upset about this attack on a RINO, but, is he right ? Is Mr. Beck's opinion based on a good grasp of fact ?

I absolutely believe he is correct, no matter how much I do not want to believe such a thing !

When Hot Air posted this Glenn Beck: McCain would have been worse for America than Obama their readers showed why they are their readers. Especially jollybird, who commented in very plain language:
Never like voting for the lesser of two evils. But if McCain won, we wouldn’t have the tea parties or the march on DC. Obama is over reaching, it’s waking people up. So i get Glen’s point. Glen also said the conservative movement might have been hindered for many years or ruined if McCain won.

An even better way to see that things would have been worse is given at SI VIS PACEM
...what Glenn Beck was driving towards, if ineloquently. It's the having the crazy old guy in the WH that would have been a huge intractible problem. Perhaps better, Beck ought to have framed his argument by stating that having Obama on the stove-control for the pot of us frogs has it's ideological advantage: Obama and his cluster have turned-up the temperature of the pot so quickly, so high that we frogs are starting to take action. We're not obediently croaking in accordance with Progressive theory.

So, America, and especially you Mr. Levin, I ask one simple thing in response to your being upset at Mr. Beck's statement of opinion:
Are you feeling froggy ?

Oh, yeah, now I get it

The biggest move to increase the size of government in the history of the Republic; the largest expansion of Federal intervention into the economy and the private lives of individual citizens; the most talked about, blogged about and without doubt the reason for the greatest exposure and effort to be in the fore making speeches by the Executive branch -EVER, and all that are in support of it are just keeping quiet because they all no that there is no need to fear it not happening just as the 1000+ page bill HR3200 spells it out

WHEW, I was worried, but, now I can just rest assured that all of the noise is so much manufactured anti-American raaaaacist hate-filled fear-mongering by only just a handful of ne'er do wells who are misguided and out of touch with the mainstream.

It is time to stop talking of "Death Panels"

Any reasonable, thinking and sober person knows fully well that in a modern western nation there will never be decisions or guidelines, such as any supposedly being made by "Death Panels".

Continuing to claim such a thing is absurd.

No such developed country would ever sanction a decision or guideline that will allow the death of any living, breathing, post-natal human being !

Oh, wait, scratch that
I mean that would never happen here......

Because this is in our future ?

Today the US State Department issued an amazingly dumb, short-sighted and very telling document.
Termination of Assistance and Other Measures Affecting the De Facto Regime in Honduras

It starts out with all we need to know, to understand this administration:
The Department of State announces the termination of a broad range of assistance to the government of Honduras as a result of the coup d’etat that took place on June 28. The Secretary already had suspended assistance shortly after the coup.

They call it not only a coup, but, a coup d'etat!

How completely ignorant !

All one needs to do is read the Honduran Constitution, or read the news from Honduras when these events unfolded, or read William Jacobson and his links regarding the legitimate actions undertaken by Honduras to preserve their Constitution.

AH, but, that is not what this administration is about ! To this administration any and all legal Constitutional restraints that can be overthrown will be food and fodder for their future actions.

Liberty and Freedom are still celebrated on this day

For all of those Puritanical prudes who harbor ill will towards Gov. Sanford, have no fear, there is still greatness in SC.

I give you the Honorable Senator Jim DeMint

While we are talking about Mark Sanford, I am sure if you came here you have read the bloggers that see no difficulty in "ventilating" that sorry "S.O.B.". I am also sure that you read those self-same bloggers go on and on about how wrong it was to "ventilate" "Dr." Tiller.

I am personally at a loss to understand how it is pro-life to wish harm to a confessing adulterer while proclaiming it an awful tragedy to have done harm to an admittedly proud late-term abortionist.

These bloggers went on about how it is murder to have killed "Dr." Tiller because he did nothing illegal.

To all of you I ask, what illegal activity did Mark Sanford engage in that warrants his "ventilating" ? If you are going to try to wiggle out of it by saying that it isn't a call for his death, just what exactly are you calling for ? Are you saying an attempted murder is OK if it is unsuccessful ? That is quite the knot into which you tie your logic.

Thankfully, all y'all do not comprise most juries.

But, I digress.

It's a simple news story......

In a simple short paragraph or two the writer could have said all that needs to be said about Rhode Island pursuing political correctness at the expense of historical accuracy. Alas, s/he could not keep from sharing their own Constitutional incompetence.
Banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony for his unorthodox religious views, minister Roger Williams set out in 1636 and settled at the northern tip of Narragansett Bay, which he called Providence Plantations. Williams founded the first Baptist church in America and became famous for embracing the separation of church and state, a legal principle enshrined in the Bill of Rights a century later.

Yeah, it is enshrined there. A line in a letter from Pres. Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut, and NOWHERE to be found in the Bill of Rights, is enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

It would do all those that claim such an ignorant statement a great deal of good to read the WHOLE letter. Then, maybe, they will all know that what they knew was wrong.
Mr. President

To messers Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut.

Gentlemen

The affectionate sentiments of esteem & approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful & zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, and in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more & more pleasing.

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man & his god, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between church and state. [Congress thus inhibited from acts respecting religion, and the Executive authorised only to execute their acts, I have refrained from presenting even occasional performances of devotion presented indeed legally where an Executive is the legal head of a national church, but subject here, as religious exercises only to the voluntary regulations and discipline of each respective sect.] Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection and blessing of the common Father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves and your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.

(signed) Thomas Jefferson
Jan.1.1802.

Plainly, Pres, Jefferson was showing that government has no place in religion, and that man has duty to his God and religion, and is obligated to those duties.

Government schools produced what they were designed to produce; lemmings, chattel and sheeple that all spout the official pronouncements of historical facts.

Charged with the crime of defending himself and others

Pharmacist Who Shot Man Robbing Store Charged With Murder

It seems to me he should have pistol-whipped him after the clip was spent.

But, now, in the age of Obama, the right course would have been to engage in a fruitful dialogue with no pre-conditions. While watching others around him being molested and then he himself assaulted.

Thank God, there are still juries in America, so that this man will have a chance.

It's For The Children !!!!!

It is impossible for those of a liberal bent to fully separate themselves from fascism.

Now that the American electorate have decided that the empty rhetoric of "Hope and Change" is just what they really want in government, it is time for them to either learn how completely stupid they were and wake up, or, to drag us along with their insidious plans.

Here it comes. From the mouth of another Chicagoan, no less.
Spunky has the best wrap-up
In order to qualify for Obama's stimulus money, every state must develop "data infrastructure" mechanisms to track students' education from cradle to college. In his testimony before Congress, Sec. of Ed. Arne Duncan, said
"...states must build data systems that can track student performance from one year to the next, from one school to another, so that those students and their parents know when they are making progress and when they need extra attention. This information must also be put in the hands of educators so they can use it to improve instruction."
This all sounds so noble and good. Who doesn't want to "improve instruction?" But do we really need a federally mandated database to help parents know when their student is making progress?

Whenever you hear them say they are putting the best interests of the children first, reach for your wallet, and get to shelter.

Awful Parents ? maybe. Awful inconsistencies ? YES

So, there's this couple in Minnesota and they believe that they should be able to determine the best "life" for their child. After having consulted with a Dr and following his prescribed treatment, they have decided to stop and to instead go their own way and follow their own path. They have decided that they would rather not have this greatly promised extended time with their child.

They have decided to go to an abortionist in order to painfully and horrendously exterminate their child.

Oh, but, you will never hear of any Judge getting involved to stop this neglectful and dangerous act.

However, there is another couple in Minnesota that have been found to be doing something far worse. It must be considered worse, a Judge has ordered it stopped - they have decided to stop the chemotherapy treatments on their son. In that case, a Judge most certainly has stepped in to over-ride their parental authority.

Have they chosen the better path ? That is uncertain. What is certain is the judge that got involved, has chosen a bad path. One filled with pitfalls and quicksand.

Have I found a textbook definition of hypocrisy ? I believe so.

Truer Words Have Yet To Be Spoken

Thank You Archbishop Burke.
“there is no element of the common good, no morally good practice, which a candidate may promote and to which a voter may be dedicated, which could justify voting for a candidate who also endorses and supports the deliberate killing of the unborn, euthanasia or the recognition of a same-sex relationship as a legal marriage. The respect for the inviolable dignity of innocent human life and for the integrity of marriage and the family are so fundamental to the common good that they cannot be subordinated to any other cause, no matter how good it may be.”

It is truly a shame of historical proportions that it even needed to be said.

It is a greater shame that it hadn't been said sooner.

Now, where does that fit into your BS full-of-lies liberal Catholicism ?

Come back to the Church Kmiec-ians. There is a reason that Reconciliation is a Sacrament. It is needed by us all.

The comedy stylings of Wanda Sykes, comedienne ?

While there was little humor in her remarks, at the White House correspondents gala event, there was a great deal of insight.

Insight into her way of thinking. By thinking, I mean feeling.

There can clearly be no thinking involved when she attacks one very specific man who has gone on record stating that he has no animosity toward anyone based on their sexual proclivities. Yet, that is what she did. In a very pointed manner.

She also gave us a good look at how she feels about another important point in LGBTQ activism. She did it in the very same “joke”, too, without a single pause.

“Dick Cheney, oh my God, he's a scary man, scares me to death. I tell my kids, I says, "Look, if two cars pull up, and one has a stranger, and the other car has Dick Cheney, you get in the car with the stranger."”

Everyone is entitled to having kids. No heterosexuality required. No Marriage required. Hell, no seeming ability to support the kids required. Yeah, it is all about the agenda.

Just in case you might be mislead into thinking that she is a comedienne and I just wasn’t amused by this particular joke, I offer this gem
People say, 'Well don't you regret not having kids?' And I go, 'No, not really.' And then if they keep asking, I always say this, 'Well, you know, maybe I'll adopt.' But I don't mean that. It's just something I say to make me sound like a nicer person.

There are more but, I have to wipe the tears from my eyes and let my side stitch subside, so you go on ahead without me.

As Vox points out, even Barack Obama has better writers,
"During the second 100 days, we will design, build and open a library dedicated to my first 100 days."

"My next 100 days will be so successful, I will complete them in 72 days. And on the 73rd day, I will rest."

Why is it so hard to read the whole story first ?

When a Bishop speaks out on any subject he does so in one of two capacities; he is either speaking as a citizen, solely for himself, or, he is speaking as a successor to the original 12 Apostles of Jesus, therefore as the leader of his flock. The amazing thing about the flock he is to shepherd is that it includes those that have no idea they are members, even those that reject all that for which he stands.

Are all Bishops excellent examples of The Shepherd ? No. They are, much like ourselves, shown to be: Lacking in the stewarding of the planet. Lacking in the guardianship of our children. Lacking in the keeping of our brothers. Those facts, however, do not diminish their calling to shepherd. Neither does it diminish their calling to preach the Gospel, as was once so brilliantly stated, using words if necessary.

In the great State of Louisiana, the Bishops Conference is concerned about some legislation that was to be introduced regarding immigrants. When legislation is proposed, it usually is designed with only the intended effects in mind. The Bishop’s of LA have a duty to their flock to speak about the unintended consequences of actions as much as the intended bad results of actions. Keep in mind that to a Catholic Bishop, EVERYONE in the boundaries of his Diocese is in his flock-it is his solemn duty to care for each and every one of them. Not, as is the case of a Legislator, as far as the next election is concerned, but in all manners of life, insofar as the next life is concerned.

Those things are too much for some to accept, and far too much for some to tolerate, especially when they overrreact before they understand the Bishops' reasons.

Maybe, next time, Laura, you will read the whole story before you overreact.

UPDATE: When I first went to Pursuing Holiness, it was to read Mindless Bag Of Hormones Spouts Off, so, I should have known she was inclined to overstate a point, or two. But, after reading Obama: Sorry for stopping you from killing any more filthy Jooos, Germany!, I am now certain that overreacting, without reading the story,(or is it without comprehending the story) is her schtick. I can hardly wait to see how much traction her reasoning gets. 'Cause we all know that without fire-bombing Dresden back to the stone-age the gas chambers wouldn't have been stopped. Anyhow, a great site to hang out in, but, wear your gloves so your knuckles don't get scraped.

In just 100 Days - it's all fixed !

Everything wrong with the social fabric has been fixed !

That tax code so convoluted that neither Tim Geithner nor Charles Rangel (and a cast of thousands), got it figured out ?

FIXED

That economic trouble inherited by this administration ?

FIXED

I know there were more problems, but, now that they are all fixed, I cannot remember what they were.

So, now it is time to solve all that ails America

Sean Penn does not really like gays, after all.

Sean Penn has filed for divorce from his wife of 13 years, Robin Wright-Penn. He had neglected to mention her when he received his recent Academy Award. The Award speech where he went on a tirade against all who supported California's Proposition 8 that defined marriage as only between a man and a woman.

Most guys, everyone I knew, that has had a failed marriage will do his level best to save all of his friends from making the same mistake. They will, and as I have said, all that I knew did say, "don't do it !, just live together if you must."

Yet, here he was going on about how marriage is something that homosexuals should be able to be in with their homosexual partner.

Not the usual way to help a friend, or anyone you like and care about in the circumstances.

More like the way a liberal goes on and on about he is so open-minded while not debating a topic, but shouting down the other side by calling them a _______phobe and a ______ist.

The Last Post on 'Waterboarding"

For awhile I have been trying to compose a post about "waterboarding" as torture and America's use of it.

To my dismay it has become very long and very involved. I like and appreciate my readers far too much to subject them to it.

Here are far shorter, and very correct, examples of better writing.

First:
Dan McLaughlin at RedState has
"Next time the United States captures some hardened, mass-murdering terrorists, the CIA should tell President Obama that we captured some unborn children, and he’ll let them do whatever they want."
Please read the rest.

Second:
Kyle-Anne Shiver at American Thinker
"In other words, Barry Honey, now that I've read the stringent limits under which our CIA folks were forced to operate in the aftermath of 9/11, I'm actually quite stunned that there was such a degree of restraint. The memos actually serve to demonstrate America's exemplary high standards in the realm of dealings with our attackers, not the reverse, as has been put forward by Democrats for the past 8 years."
Please read the rest.

Now, please, stop using lame "End justifies the means", BS arguments, and discuss real world problems and solutions in an adult manner.

Was 'The Fix" In ?

It was another simple, unnecessary, but, fun idea. Let's get 50+ of the country's most beautiful extroverted women to dress in evening gowns and bikinis; and just to be sure their voice matches their looks, have them answer a question.

Briliant !

To legitimize it let's get some B-List celebs (I am trying to be polite), to "judge" the "competition".

Brilliant !

Ah, but, it is 2009 and now when you invite as "judges" them that thinks girls are icky, this is what you get.

Was it really a coincidence that Miss California (a "representative" of the State just recently sending Prop 8 to a rousing uprising of fascist/haters on a rampage of homophobia accusations) gets Perez Hilton(a "notorious gay activist blogger") as her "judge"-questioner ?

Everyone there knew Miss California was going to have to answer a question. Miss California, Carrie Prejean did not get to say whom her questioner would be. It doesn't seem as if she even had a good look at the card; which seemed as if all it had written on it was a single line, or a single digit.

Sure does look like another good place to scream homophobe. Pay no attention to the applause and cheers.

The smartest people on the planet - Update - Update - Update

Good thing the Obama administration got around to expanding and increasing federal funding for a failed science.
Otherwise all we would have is the private sector to tell us why they no longer waste money on this.
It isn't as if there is a ban on it.
It isn't as if the whole rest of the world can't do as they please.

'O' Man - it doesn't ƒ∆@#!π^& work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The end of all pollutants, in our lifetime, even

It doesn't take a great big leap to get from here to here.

Just replace the signature.

If CO2 emissions are pollution and you are breathing and you cannot afford to pay for the tax, er, I mean trade credit on the pollution that is your breathing, then, when the taxing, er I mean credit trading agency and the healthcare agency are one and the same government, well.....

It is not even a very big step to get from here to here when you remember the thought of you as a polluter just by being alive and read this prescient story

Sometimes the best lessons take years to learn

I am here now to freely and openly admit that I am slow.

To be more precise - retarded.

Just today I came to fully realize that two very long held, personal beliefs-which, by the way are very much against the grain of all that my government schooling tried to infuse in me-were not only related they were each the cause of the other.

You see, from all I can recall about my "schooling", the Great Depression was ended by the great plan of the great man FDR. Without his vision and strength we would not have had the New Deal, and the Great Depression would have been even greater.

Add to that the fact that without a full and unconditional surrender of the Axis forces in WWII the world would forever be in fear of a resurgent evil, or worse, we would lose a million men in the invasion of Japan.

Before I continue, let me explain that while these were explicitly taught in the textbooks of my school age youth, I was fortunate enough to have teachers that believed in and worked very hard to be educators.

Thank you to all of the teachers that taught me how to think, not what to think. Especially Mr. Trager and Mr. Williams.

Those two men especially taught me to think about the lessons of history. How did massive government spending rebuild an economy ? How was an extended and aggressively anti-civilian offensive better than a negotiated peace with a new group of men that were of a mind that their warlords were very wrong and either were replaced or need to be ?

For years I felt alone in those thoughts. Until recently, when there have been more and more references to how it was WWII that brought about the end of the Great Depression. But that alone did not trigger the connection.

Then came my interest in Economics Austrian School style.(A great resource site for when you are serious about economics) .
At first just the occasional article, mostly Vox Day's column at WorldNetDaily. Then daily reading of Vox Popoli.

That is where it really peaked. I re-read Vox's two short, succinct columns(1st here 2nd here) on the current screwing up of economic policy(stupidly doing something-anything) at WND. There it was.

So very obvious, now.

The New Deal was failing miserably. FDR saw war in Europe and in the Pacific as a means of getting men to work, or more precisely, off the unemployment rolls. Not as a sole objective, mind you, but as a great side-effect.

However, that too would not be enough. Those men would need jobs when the war ended. Jobs in industry. Jobs producing goods. But, there has to be a way to insure that there is a shortage of goods elsewhere so that the US economy will get rolling first. Here is where FDR was decidedly an America Firster.

Ah ha ! He had to convince the Allied Forces to agree to, and follow through on, only accepting an Unconditional Surrender. The USSR would go along gratefully, they were all about conquest and domination - remember that non-aggression pact just before carving up Poland ?
The Brits and the French would be easy to convince. They were still pissed off about the bombing of London and the occupation of Paris. Plus they were still living in 1918 wanting to humiliate the Germans.

Now it all comes together. To achieve an unconditional surrender they would have to bomb Germany and Japan back into the stone-age. Think Dresden and Hamburg. Think Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Think with no industrial competition from Europe or Asia, the US will be able to send a lot of goods to the rest of the world.

The end of the Great Depression was a direct result of the inhuman and criminal assault on civilian populations in order to continue the terrible government overstepping, and dreadful economic policies implemented by FDR and the Congresses that were bowing to the bad planning his administration was responsible for.

No wonder the government schools were pushing hard for what I read in those textbooks. The truth is ugly.

Thank you so much Vox I include you among my better teachers.

Technology without Morality-and the people who use it

I have struggled with a way to succinctly express my thoughts and feelings about Nadya Suleman and her very large family.

So, when I came across this brilliant piece from Doug Ten Napel, I was so very happy to find out I was not alone in what I was thinking.
I was also very relieved to see that I was also not alone in being able to express those feelings.
It’s not sick to want to have 14 children. It is sick to wish them aborted, wish harm on the mother or assume she has done some great evil. I don’t know that having 14 children is a mistake, and neither do you. I’ve known plenty of people who were raised in abject poverty and came out just fine.
I don’t understand the argument that doctors should be able to abort as many embryos as they want but they’re only supposed to implant two at the max. Efforts are made to make two embryo implantation a new medical rule, complete with warnings of witch hunts to any doctors who might not obey the know-it-all culture.
Notice that Pro-choicers are fine with having the government come into our wombs when it comes to the number of embryos that can be implanted. That’s because the “government in wombs” bumper sticker was always a smokescreen.

What about not judging decisions made “between a woman, her doctor and God” as Nancy Pelosi puts it.

Isn't it fun to see ridiculously weak reasonings get stood on their head ?

Obama quietly and without fanfare increases Federal Revenues

President Obama has shown that when he sees a good idea, he runs with it.

Taking a cue from the Chairman of The House Committee on Ways and Means, Rep. Charles Rangel D–NY, President Obama's Cabinet picks have been a carefully orchestrated example of finding the best and brightest men from a list of tax-delinquents; thereby assuring their correcting their delinquencies and pouring funds into the Federal coffers.

Thank you Mr. President. Brilliant !

Governor Patrick J. Quinn

Governor Patrick J. Quinn

May God Help Us All !

When I moved to Illinois in 2003, I called Rod Blagojevich "Governor One-Term". Little did I realize the full incompetence of the IL GOP. Of course it didn't take long to see just how incompetent. Jack Ryan forced out of the US Senate race and replaced by Alan Keyes(I will say no more on him). But, that is not all. In their combined best effort at stopping a return to Springfield of Blago the IL GOP chose Judy Baar Topinka. (She who screwed up the IL GOP and twisted it into an unrecognizable mess by allowing a non-story to taint a decent man when his SEALED divorce records were not only un-sealed, but made public-in a very Obama-kind-of-way and we learned that *gasp* he was inclined to ask his then-wife to have sex outside of the bedroom; essentially handing the US Senate seat to Barack Obama; as Steve Earle sang-you know the rest.) and Joe Birkett(He of the so-very-borderline-criminally-handled Nicarico case) as their candidates.

So, now we have a well-meaning loose cannon as Gov, and no discernable opposition.

as Jimmy Buffet sang-the weather is here, I wish you were beautiful

God Bless This Wonderful Woman from New Brunswick !

This piece of eloquent brilliance comes from From SkyNews:
'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since? Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care that a a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency. I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan. I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting a home to hear about them when something happens. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care. And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and, you guessed it, I don't care!! If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add: 'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't have that problem.' I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this. One last thought for the day: Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ 2. The Canadian Soldier. 3. The British Soldier. 4. The US Soldier. 5. The Anzacs, and One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.' YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET ALL OF THEM. AMEN!
Thank you, and God bless you.
You speak for so many of us to so many of them.

Pro-Family Abortion

If there were ever need for more proof that the left is completely without the vaguest idea of how to think, here it is
It is time for abortion rights advocates to include a “pro-family” context in their conversations about reproductive rights, according to Malika Saada Saar, executive director of the Rebecca Project for Human Rights. Saar said that much of her generation views the abortion-rights movement as “anti-family” and “anti-child.”
That is without doubt the stupidest combination of opposite meanings since George Orwell's own famous "1984"s Newspeak fully showed what doublespeak is and how it can be used to success.

Is reading even taught is schools ? Surely how to think is not ! Only what to think !

God help us. If these simpletons ever get control of two of three branches of Government - I shudder.

Oh, they do have control of two.

Prayer and Fasting

Pray with out ceasing.

The real reason today was significant

Did you hear it ?!?!?

It happened today, January 20, 2009 A.D.
There was a peaceful transfer of power.
Not a shot was fired.
Not a prolonged nor escalating war of competing factions.

We have become so good at doing this very amazing thing that it has become necessary for the media and others to go find a reason for it's importance.

Is it a big deal that we have a President with a naturally dark skin tone ?
It oughtn't be.
But, those that tell us race should not matter, that we are in a post-racial time, they will be the loudest to proclaim the importance of President Obama's skin tone.

He is African-American. More importantly he is truly African-American. He was conceived of an American mother and an African father. Otherwise, there really is no real meaning to the term African-American.

So, everybody, no matter your skin tone, political leaning, party affiliation, religion or lack thereof, CELEBRATE what we have been doing since 1799 when President Washington witnessed the inauguration of President Adams.

The peaceful transfer of power in the Greatest Republic God Has Ever Allowed.

Honest Mistake ? Yeah ! Right !

President-Elect Obama's SecTrez designee, Timothy Geithner, it has been reported, has, in the past, had some tax issues.

The reports have been about how he seemed to have overlooked paying self-employment taxes for money he earned from 2001 to 2004 while in the employ of the International Monetary Fund, according to materials released by the committee Tuesday.

Could happen to anyone.
Breitbart has
He paid some of the taxes in 2006, after an IRS audit discovered the discrepancy for taxes paid in 2003 and 2004. But it wasn't until much later—days before Obama tapped him to head Treasury late last year—that Geithner paid back most of the taxes, incurred in 2001 and 2002. He did so after Obama's transition team found that Geithner had made the same tax mistake his first two years at the IMF as the one the IRS found he made during his last two years there.
Good thing he had friends looking out for him.

Even the very brilliant and wise Judge Joseph Napolitano thinks it is good to have someone in that position that has had troubles with the IRS.

He is probably correct. No, I will go so far as to say, I wholeheartedly agree with him.

But........
all of this stuff is because he "forget" to pay his taxes in an "honest mistake".

The thing is, I heard otherwise today. When I actually checked, I was able to verify that it was known as soon as yesterday that Mr Geithner was told that he had to pay his taxes himself, and signed paperwork to the effect that he knew it, and would do so.
But, there is more
IMF issues several clear guidelines each year for its employees detailing their responsibility to pay all their self-employment taxes, and that Geithner had signed annual statements saying that he would do so. He also had experience dealing with such taxes, the panel noted.

So, knock off the "Honest Mistake" crap, and just answer the damn question,

WHY ?

Not that we need to ask.

It was because it was your money, you earned it and you didn't want to give it away.

Just say so, we all understand.

Coincidental by plan ?

I am not a big believer in conspiracy theories. They usually are formulated by ignoring some very important information. You are probably very well aware of the more popular conspiracy theories. If you are a Progressive, you probably believe them.

However, it is very hard to overlook the plain fact that oftentimes there are like minded individuals that come together in a strange, unconscious way. A sort of Kismet.

President-to-be Obama has selected Dr Sanjay Gupta to be US Surgeon General. Dr Gupta has supported a tax on drinks sweetened by corn syrup.

OK, now it devolves a wee bit.

Pepsi-Cola has changed their logo to one that is cleverly reminiscent of The Obama logo without looking like it.

Pepsi-Cola has marketing people that know how to move product by subliminal means.
Pepsi-Cola is sweetened by corn syrup.
Obama wants to find new sources of revenue.
Obama selects a Surgeon general that will advance the cause of taxing corn syrup.

A win-win

What does 30,000 dollars American buy ?

California financier David Rubin gave 110,000 dollars to the PAC's of NM Gov. Bill Richardson.

No problem, yet.

His company, CDR Financial Products, then got a 1.48 million dollar contract following approval for their plan for a bond program.

That might be a problem.

So much of a problem that there is currently an investigation to find out how much of it, if any, was pay-to-play.

The news is that Mr. Rubin also donated to the Obama campaign.

Not that it is unusual. The news is that we even know that he was a donor to The Ones campaign.

It would seem that with all of the current stink coming from the Obama camp, that this would go unreported. But, maybe, the attempt here is to put so much out there that we all stop noticing the newest one.

Chicago Politics - Minnesota Style

There are numerous jokes told in Illinois around the time of elections. Many of them ending in the phrase "vote early and vote often". Some of them are even funny. What makes them funny is that they are grounded in truth.

Now, we see that Minnesotans will get to start their own brand of such humor. This is due to the recent ability of Minnesotans to cast more ballots in some precincts than there are registered voters.

While most of the country has a 30-50 % turnout, there are precincts in Minnesota that will make some Chicago ward captains blush with shame at their own 75% turnout abilities.

Not since Richard J. Daley have I seen 100% plus turnouts.

But, that ain't all. They have achieved Chicago political nirvana - the Judges are in their pocket.

Congratulations Minnesota, you have arrived at the pinnacle; the crowning achievement of Democrat politics.

Law of the Land – optional

Seems Ole Happy has had his way.

Senator Burris was not seated.

With there being no legitimate reason for such an act, how long will the charade of The United States Constitution being the Law of the land continue ?

There are many examples of The Constitution being pissed on, but these may be the most, biggest at any one time !

The President-to-be is Constitutionally ineligible

United States Senate blocks seating of Constitutionally Qualified Senator

Secretary of State nominee is Constitutionally ineligible

All of those links are to a commentary site, but, there are no real news sites still reporting this as news. Frankly any news site that did report it is either scoffed or has rolled over on it and made them all disappear.

Oh, there will be reporting on what Happy did, and his meeting with Sen Burris, but it will all revolve around the topic of who the Il Governor is and the red herring that the IL Secretary of State is.

The Obama Way

We get to see Obama win the general election even though we (by we here, I mean those outside of Illinois) know little to nothing about him. Even if you wanted to find out, the records are either non-existent or sealed. Mr. Transparent. Hope for a change in that matter.
Then we get to see Obama, after discarding anyone that could make him look bad by their, non-hidden, past, choose his supporting cast.
Where to begin ?
His pick for Secretary of State is Constitutionally ineligible, but when was the last time that mattered ?
Then his choice for Secretary of Commerce, a man that took a big risk by showing his support for Obama in a tight race, goes on record saying that this man from Illinois is Constitutionally ineligible to be President.

So, now that we know that there were financial links between Gov Richardson's PAC's and a few lucrative government contracts, now we see that there might be a problem for Obama.
But, it wasn't the same day the NM Grand Jury started investigating.
It wasn't even the same week.
Was it even because of the investigation ?
Was it more probably because as the investigation gets more and more information, it will be harder and harder to keep it out of the news. Which will mean that people will really starting to do web searches of the SecCom designate. Which mean people will see this video. Then what ? We cannot have a SecCom that wears a tin-foil hat.

This is very similiar to how Obama was in Illinois politics. The cut-me-in-or-cut-it-out thinking translates easily to the when-you-make-me-look-bad-I-cut-you-out way at which Obama has shown great skill.

The Obama Way
